Imaginary Pact

 I watched as you put

the hangman around your neck.

You watched as I put

the hangman around my neck.

We synchronized our breathing

just like we were breeding

and flipped on the ceiling fan

with no form of a concrete plan.

Both of us made this pact.

Our hearts,

no longer intact.

I was your star you wanted to cross.

We were found around noon,

both of us

already to the moon.

They came trampling in around us,

but only found one of us.

A second noose was hanging there.

The room was filled with a blank stare.

They didn’t understand our love,

because you, my love,

were my invisible dove.
