They found a spot
on the oxygen device
primarily known as the lungs.
We knew it would happen.
What did you expect,
smokers?
That you could just suck on
a cigarette for all of your existence on
this social experiment of a planet
and just live until you’re nothing but
a walking corpse.
What made you so sure?
Ego;
mind control;
stupidity.
Will there ever be a cure?
Maybe there is one
and it’s locked away in Area 51
next to the hot humanoid alien
and the Holy Grail.
If released to the world perhaps humanity
wouldn’t be so frail.
Is this thinking insanity,
maybe,
but at least I won’t be confined to conformity: jail.
