Middle-aged men wear you
like a monk wears a robe:
an out-of-time Athenian
who's historically old.
Oh,
eons-old footwear,
you are hideous.
And to top it off,
you don’t hide the grotesque
display of bipedalism
that’s caused by the human foot.
Oh,
sandal,
you are the reject shoe.
This doesn’t help you.
It further buries you.
